The World is at cross-roads between conflicts and building new paths to peace. The role of media in helping to navigate uncertainties and overcome apprehension has never been more important. Can media actually play a role in bringing harmony and peaceful resolutions?
This session invites media executives from different areas of the world where experienced and/or experiencing conflicts to share information and discuss the role of public service media as bridge builder and effective contributor of social cohesion.

Why do they service their programs to the audiences in North Korea? What messages do they delivering them? Zelika Leckic-Subasic heads Eurovision News Exchange for South-east Europe (ERNO). ERNO develops common-productions and exchanges among staff of the participating broadcasters with a view re-establishing personal relations and links among media professionals – including journalists, editors and cameramen – that were severed after the dissolution of former Yugoslavia and the Eastern-block.

NGO’s, international unions and associations not only work for collective interests of the members but also they play a key role in regional and international cooperation. Regional association of broadcasters and broadcasting unions have long worked for objective of building trust and understanding among people from different countries and regions, thus contributing to peace in the region and world.
This session invites heads of the major broadcasting unions of the world and policy makers and influencers to talk and share their experience and seek solidarity in using the media for a more peaceful world.

“5 Things Broadcasters Need to Know about 5G” One of the main features of current terrestrial broadcasting is IP-based bidirectional service. From the viewpoint of data transmission, it can be said that it is an expandable service capable of connecting with a communication network while being a broadcast service that many people can simultaneously receive high-quality media. In this presentation, how the chances of 5G technology innovation and media consumption environment change terrestrial broadcast media service will be presented with 5 major features of 5G. For example, ultra-high-quality on-the-spot situations will enhance the quality of real-time broadcasts, and ultra-low latency will revolutionize the wireless live production environment. In addition, ultra connectivity will lead to endless expansion of high-quality media service terminals. In this way, the evolution of communication technology will have a great influence on the evolution of terrestrial broadcasting service, which is regenerated as a super connected service.
